Avoid These 3 Common Chat Mistakes

Love chatting with Russian women online? You're not alone.Thousands of men enjoy flirting with women from the Former Soviet Union. Here are three common chat mistakes to avoid.

Being Inappropriate

Some men mistake international dating sites for adult chat rooms and make inappropriate requests or saucy remarks about a woman's figure. While some women and services are fine with adult fun, it's generally best to keep things clean until you're sure you've found a willing chat partner and an appropriate venue.

Boasting About Your Job

Careers are important, and many men naturally want to talk about their professional lives. However, don't spend hours regaling a Russian woman about the intricate details of your job. It's also important not to lie or over embellish. Sure, it's tempting to tell a woman you're an Internet entrepreneur when you sell a handful of items online or that you're a celebrated chef when you actually work at a casual chain restaurant. The women on international dating sites have heard it all and will have no problem seeing through empty claims. Of course, many men are, in fact, successful entrepreneurs and celebrated chefs, but it's better to be modest than boastful.

Living in the Past

Stuck in the past? Many men, particularly those with a few years under their belt, make the mistake of repeatedly talking about the past. While it's fine to tell a potential match about your experience in Vietnam, your travel experiences in the 80s, or how you rocked out with your college band, women want to know about your current life, not the life you led a couple of decades ago. Everyone loves to reminisce about their glory days, but if you focus too much on the past women might wonder if you have anything to offer in the present. This rule applies to photos as well. Don't upload a photo that's several years old. Pictures taken within the last year or two are generally best.

While all of the topics listed above are fine in moderation, harping on one particular subject can turn Russian women off. Remember, potential matches want to know about many aspects of your life, not just one or two.
